Professional workshops have taken place for faculty on campus over the past several years. In the 2016 fall semester, one faculty member has trained ten others on how to incorporate sustainability in various disciplines. In the spring semester the instructors are incorporating what they have learned and will be sharing their results.
A brief description of any external professional development and training opportunities in sustainability that are supported by the institution(e.g. through payment, reimbursement, or subsidy):
CLC has sent faculty members to AASHE's Sustainability Across the Curriculum Leadership Workshop in years past. Those faculty members have gone on to train other faculty members. CLC is engaged in a 2 year extended AQIP project evaluating opportunities for sustainability in the curriculum. In 2016, CLC hired Debra Rowe to train faculty members about how to incorporate sustainability into the curriculum. Now in 2017, the AQIP is now training faculty to incorporate sustainability into curriculum across diverse academic departments. CLC hired Stephenie Presseller to consult with this project.
