CLC's website titled "Green Initiatives" and provides an overview of sustainability at the college. It provides links to the Sustainability Plan and Progress Report. This webpage also lists awards and memberships with various supporting organizations.

The Green Initiatives webpage links to 3 pages outlining efforts of Greening our Campus, Greening our Curriculum, and Greening our Community. A link to the Environmental Action Committee also leads to resources for individuals to Go Green and for additional Conservation Tips.

A brief description of the sustainability newsletter:

Sustainable CLC uses Constant Contact to send out regular emails to community partners and to help raise awareness of sustainability efforts at CLC and across the county. These community newsletters are not archived on our website.

CLC has also developed an internal biweekly newsletter called the Sust'y eBlast. Staff and faculty use this newsletter as a forum to share their own stories of how they value sustainability at home, work or in the community. Sust'y eBlasts are not archived on our website.

Sustainable CLC hosts its own Facebook and Twitter accounts. These social media platforms educate students and community members about sustainable activities going on at the college and also provide education about environmental sustainability issues.

CLC is in the process of developing its Sustainability Trail, which features buildings designed to LEED Silver and Platinum standards. The Campus Core opened in the Fall of 2016 and the Science Building is opening Spring 2017. Signage from the Sustainability Trail will highlight geothermal energy systems, rain greywater systems, solar thermal and pv systems, LED lighting, among others.

CLC offers food grown on its campus farm in the cafe. A special sign appears in the cafe when food items contain ingredients that were grown right on campus. CLC's Horticulture Department provides information to students and community members about local food production and the campus farm market.

CLC is in the process of developing its Sustainability Trail, which features the prairie and wetland restoration areas, bioswales in parking lots, the arboretum, and campus farm. Native plants are being incorporated into regularly landscaped gardens to provide biodiversity and to help protect our air, water, and soil.

CLC is developing its Sustainability Trail with interpretive signage along a winding through energy efficient efficient buildings and restored natural landscapes. Stops on this trail include the geothermal fields, prairie and wetland restoration areas, the campus farm, arboretum, apiary, living wall, green roof, and several sustainable features.

CLC offers resources for students, faculty and staff to find alternatives to driving alone to CLC. CLC serves as the western hub for Pace Suburban Bus services.

CLC has been working with the Village of Grayslake and the Lake County Div. of Transportation to enhance other alternative means for transportation, with multi-use trail connections to Lake County's regional network of trails.
