A brief description of the formal sustainability course designation program:

All courses that align with the Quality Enhancement Plan ("Sustainability Literacy as a Bridge to Addressing 21st-Century Problems") are reviewed and approved by the QEP team and Center for Sustainable Development. Faculty members present their course curriculum for consideration, and an approved list of courses is later relayed to the Registrar's Office. Approved courses are denoted on the course list with SF (sustainability focused) or SR (sustainability related) designations.

SF and SR courses incorporate education on sustainability literacy, the Triple Bottom Line and the yearly theme through lectures, projects and readings. Sustainability course designations help to expose and recruit more students, faculty and staff to an active sustainability culture and prompt them to see connections between sustainability literacy and their traditional courses of study.

While SF/SR courses are designated in the course registration that is not publicly available, we have those courses identified on our publicly available website.
