Does the institution host a food bank, pantry, or equivalent resource focused on alleviating food insecurity, hunger and poverty among students?:
Yes
A brief description of the food bank, pantry, or equivalent resource:
The Cougar Pantry opened in September 2018 on the second floor of the Stern Student Center. The pantry is a result of a student-driven initiative to help students who are food insecure. It provides dry goods and hygiene products at no charge to any Cougar student in need.
The effort is supported by the College's Office of Student Life. Student volunteers manage the daily operations of the pantry, and there are no restrictions on the number of times a student can visit the pantry each week. Students may select up to 10 items every time he/she/they visit. To date, the pantry has been stocked through campus food drives. Faculty, staff and community members may also drop off dry goods at the Stern Student Center.
