A brief description of the institution’s wellness and/or employee assistance program(s):

Counseling, referral and wellbeing services for College of Charleston students are available through the Counseling Center, which aims to increase student psychological resilience and personal growth to support persistence and success in school. The Center offers group and individual counseling, training, assessment, consultation, outreach programming, crisis intervention services and peer counseling. More information can be found at counseling.cofc.edu.

For academic and non-academic staff, the university provides support through the Deer Oaks Employee Program. The program is a free service that offers a wide variety of counseling, referral and consultation services designed to assist College of Charleston employees in resolving work-life issues. EAP offers services like assessment and counseling sessions, referrals and community services references, legal and financial services, retirement services and disaster assistance. Additional benefits are available to employees in the form of parking, health and wellness, and professional development.
