The Quality Enhancement Plan Implementation Committee serves as the governing committee for campus-wide sustainability efforts. The diverse committee meets monthly and supports Center for Sustainable Development staff to implement the QEP. Committee members also collaborate with Executive Director Dr. Brian Fisher and offer insight and guidance on how best to engage multiple partners (Facilities, Procurement, Academic Affairs, Admissions) on campus-wide sustainability initiatives.

A brief description of each sustainability office:
The Center for Sustainable Development is a hub for sustainability and sustainable development with a focus on applied research, experiential learning, operational management and public engagement on campus and in the greater Charleston community. Organizationally, the Center is located within Academic Affairs, which provides visibility and collaborative opportunities across campus. The Center, headquartered at 14 Green Way on the university's main campus, is charged with advancing the Quality Enhancement Plan and sustainability literacy initiatives, and its team also engages in student mentorship, operational excellence and innovative partnerships.

Dr. P. Brian Fisher is the Executive Director of the Center for Sustainable Development and the university's Chief Sustainability Officer.
Under the leadership of Dr. Brian Fisher, the Center stewards sustainability literacy and serves as a hub for intensive study, practical application and the professional development of diverse, innovative Cougar students. As thought leaders and sustainability experts, its team builds and fosters strong, service-oriented partnerships in the Charleston community and advocates for policies and practices that enable this university to advance its climate and zero waste goals.
The Center, which reflects the universally adopted Sustainable Development Goals outlined by the United Nations, intends to solve challenges felt both globally and locally in communities like Charleston, particularly poverty, hunger, gender and racial inequality, environmental degradation and climate change. More information on the Center can be found at sustainability.cofc.edu.
