A brief description of the institution’s main campus and other aspects of the institutional boundary used to complete this report:

This includes 281 acres that encompass our academic quad and 88 buildings, each designed to complement each other and build a singular architectural language, with construction dates ranging from 1827 to 2019. Colgate's institutional boundary also includes 641 acres of outlying Colgate-owned student residential buildings along with faculty and staff housing along Broad Street and College Street. The university owns and manages an additional 1,059 acres of forested land used for teaching and research, recreation and aesthetic value, conservation of ecosystem services, timber production, and carbon sequestration. Our boundary also includes the Colgate Bookstore which is located in downtown Hamilton. Each of these areas will be included in our institutional boundary, comprising more than 2,169 acres for Colgate's AASHE STARS report.
