For faculty and staff: The Employee Assistance Program (EPA) is a confidential service provided by Colgate University to benefit employees and their immediate family members by providing confidential short-term and solution focused therapy. The EPA is designed to help with problems related to substance abuse, marital and family issues, financial or legal concerns, and job stress and other personal problems. The program is administered by Family Services Associates, one of the most experienced and respected counseling firms in Central New York. In addition, Human Resources provides several programs including access to on campus athletic facilities and financial support for employees and their families.
All Colgate employees are also eligible for multiple free counseling sessions.
Additionally, the Shaw Wellness Institute is a safe and inclusive environment for students, staff and faculty to engage in various wellness events and programs. Here, students can receive holistic support in 8 dimensions of wellness: emotional, intellectual, physical, social, spiritual/sense of meaning and purpose, occupational, environmental, and financial as well as address any other concerns they may face. Students can also use this space to simply relax, study, or socialize. There is a registered dietitian housed here who meets with students, staff and faculty.
