The sustainability office in collaboration with the dean of the first-year students hosts a completely zero waste event for all incoming students at an orientation meal.

Residential Advisors are briefed by sustainability office interns and information regarding our recycling and green living programs are placed into each incoming student's welcome packet.

We provide composting at orientation meals and each student is asked to do their part in composting. Also, we provide each incoming student with a reusable Colgate mug and a compact florescent bulb to use on campus.
