A new strategic plan is underway at Colgate University. An on-going process, the new strategic plan includes a pledge for Colgate University to be Carbon Neutral by 2019.

In January 2009, Colgate became a signatory of the American College and University Presidents' Climate Commitment (ACUPCC).
