A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:
Colgate owns over 800 acres of forested lands. We are pursuing third-party certification demonstrating that our forests will be sustainably managed over the long-term. We have also established baseline field measurements that will be replicated over time to determine the annual rate of sequestration of our maturing forests. These ongoing field measurements will involve students and the results will factor into our campus carbon budget and help our university achieve climate neutrality by 2019.
