Colby has a full service Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for all employees and their household families. Chaired by Wade Behnke, the Environmental, Health, and Safety Director, the Wellness Working Group (WWG) is charged with helping to connect Colby faculty and staff with College and community wellness opportunities and programs, and raise awareness of wellness among College employees. The group met six times over the past year to organize wellness activities with almost 1,100 employee participants. These activities include: 13 “Lunch and Learns” offered to the participants in the passport program, with a total of 500 employees in attendance to date; the implementation of the Virgin Pulse Wellness program on campus, with 182 employees participating; coordinated a detox fasting program for 15 Colby employees; coordinated a weekly weight watchers program for 22 Colby employees; purchased and arranged access to a self-monitoring heath station to privately record employee biometrics; and coordinated and oversaw the semi-annual health fair which had 165 employees in attendance and hosted 22 vendors with biometric screenings.
