Does the institution have policies and/or guidelines in place to improve outdoor air quality and minimize air pollutant emissions from mobile sources on campus?:
Yes

A brief description of the policies and/or guidelines to improve outdoor air quality and minimize air pollutant emissions from mobile sources:

Colby Facilities has a No Idling Policy for its entire fleet, accompanied by signage at all loading docks to prevent contractors and shippers from idling. When replacing vehicles in our fleet, we select new models with higher fuel efficiency and fewer emissions. Colby no longer uses oil, and only burns natural gas and biomass, reducing the amount of pollutants emitted on campus. Facilities is exploring replacing buggies and equipment with electrical instead of gas-powered machines.

Has the institution completed an inventory of significant air emissions from stationary campus sources or else verified that no such emissions are produced?:
Yes

Weight of the following categories of air emissions from stationary sources::
Weight of Emissions
Nitrogen oxides (NOx) 20.96 Tons
Sulfur oxides (SOx) 1.39 Tons
Carbon monoxide (CO) 6.95 Tons
Particulate matter (PM) 1.88 Tons
Ozone (O3) 0 Tons
Lead (Pb) 0.00 Tons
Hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) 0 Tons
Ozone-depleting compounds (ODCs) 0.04 Tons
Other standard categories of air emissions identified in permits and/or regulations 1.32 Tons

A brief description of the methodology(ies) the institution used to complete its air emissions inventory:

In compliance with EPA and Maine DEP regulations, Colby regularly monitors and applies for licenses for all of our air emissions from each of our 9 major stationary sources. The emissions and totals listed reflect Colby's 2016 Annual Air Emission Inventory and Emission Statement.
