A brief description of the methodology the institution followed to complete the research inventory (including the types of faculty and staff included as researchers):
We used the American Association of University Professors' (AAUP) logic to tally the total number of faculty members engaged in sustainability research. The number 191 reflects full-time faculty members, including faculty members on paid-sabbatical, but excluding faculty on unpaid leave and librarians, athletic coaches, and administrators with nominal faculty status whose primary role is not course instruction. These 191 faculty members are required to conduct research. Their current research topics and interests were determined from individual faculty members' websites. Research includes data from the past three academic years.
