A brief description of the farmers’ market:
Colby has supported the development of the local farmers and community markets. The Downtown Waterville Farmers Market was organized in 2006 by Waterville Main Street, Inc., a non-profit economic development organization that Colby helps support with volunteers and financial resources in the form of grants. Colby was one of the founding sponsors of Barrels Community Market, a non-profit market established in 2009, that sells local food and goods produced with in a 20 mile radius of Waterville.
