A brief description of the institution’s sustainability partnerships with the local community:

Colby has a number of ongoing partnerships that meet a variety of needs within the Greater Waterville community.
Some examples of current Colby/community partnerships:
Colby Cares About Kids (CCAK) is a volunteer mentoring program whose goal is to provide a consistent, reliable adult presence in the lives of children who live in the Greater Waterville area.
The Junior High Tutoring and Adults Reading to Children Programs coordinated through the Colby Volunteer Center are separate programs that also link Colby students to area school children who specifically need help with academics.
Student Interns are partnered with community groups as needed. Currently there is a group of Colby students working with the directors of the new Maine Lakes Resource Center and the Maine Congress of Lakes Association (COLA) to assist with environmental sustainability initiatives.
