A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about student commuting:
A commuter survey was sent out electronically by Institutional Research in April 2022 to a representative sample of students that live off campus. 5,231 students were invited to participate in the survey, and 398 responded (7.6%). The information gathered helped to measure the GHG emissions associated with regular commuting to and from the institution by students and employees.

A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about employee commuting:
The same commuter survey that was sent out electronically by Institutional Research in April 2022, was also sent to a representative sample of faculty and staff. 215 faculty were invited to participate in the survey, and 98 responded (45.6%). 326 staff were invited to participate in the survey, and 181 responded (55.5%).

Attached are the results of the survey. The raw data was used to calculate the percentages provided above.

Included in the student results are students that live on campus. Students that live on campus walk, ride a bike or take the campus shuttle to classes. Parking on campus is very limited and is located on the perimeter of campus.
