All non-academic and academic staff can received sustainability training from Sustain Coastal staff through the Teal Goes Green initiative.

Coastal Carolina University was an official Host Institution of the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education’s (AASHE’s) annual Global Conference on Sustainability in Higher Education (GCSHE) in 2021. As a host institution, all students, staff and faculty had full access to this conference. Over the course of the 3 days, Sustain Coastal live streamed sessions in the Student Union and invited the campus to attend the sessions.
Additionally, Sustain Coastal staff members attend the annual College and University Recycling Coalition conference to develop a better knowledge of recycling and zero waste practices. In March 2022, Sustain Coastal hosted and participated in the 2022 Collegiate Recycling Coalition Conference.
