A brief description of how sustainability is included prominently in new student orientation :

The Sustainability Office is represented at the Campus Fair that students attend as part of orientation. Sustainability is also featured at other events throughout the year. Students are offered the opportunity to learn about green building practices and sustainable material selection through the Office of the University Architect; how to study sustainability through various academic departments; and more broadly about campus sustainability initiatives through Facilities Management. Additionally, students have the opportunity to learn about CSU's practices in relation to inclusion and diversity, health and wellness, and volunteer opportunities.

First year students enrolled in select sections of the course 'Introduction to University Life' learn about sustainability on campus.

Campus tours include information about sustainability features on campus to make prospective students aware of initiatives such as LEED certified green buildings, bike sharing and the UPass bus pass that is provided to every CSU student.
