A sustainability survey was developed by the Director of Sustainability in 2016 and administered in 2017 as part of the broader Facilities, Architects, Safety and Technology (FAST) Department survey that is distributed annually.

A brief description of how representative samples were reached (if applicable) and how the cultural assessment is administered:
The survey was administered electronically to all faculty, staff and students in January 2017. 2,123 responses were received, 76% of which were students. The survey tool covers a range of topics relating to Facilities Management so it is not skewed toward those predisposed to an interest in sustainability. Nearly 11% of the campus community responded to the survey. (99% confidence level, confidence interval 2.6).

A brief summary of results from the cultural assessment, including a description of any measurable changes over time:
83% of respondents indicated that the sustainability reputation of their organization matters to them. 60% of respondents indicated that their concern about environmental issues has grown due to events, activities and/or courses offered by CSU. The first longitudinal comparison of results will be available in early 2018.
