The Multi-College Interdisciplinary Research Program The CSU Office of Research emphasizes multidisciplinary research through the Multi-College Interdisciplinary Research Program (MIRP). This program provides funding for broad and collaborative research activities that are interdisciplinary and involve faculty from multiple colleges across CSU. At least three colleges must be represented between the members of the proposing team. http://www.csuohio.edu/research/multi-college-interdisciplinary-research-program The Graduate Student Interdisciplinary Research Club (GSIRC) Additionally, graduate students are supported in interdisciplinary research through the Graduate Student Interdisciplinary Research Club (GSIRC). In 2014 they hosted the Cleveland State Interdisciplinary Research Conference (CSIRC) which was meant to expose students to interdisciplinary research and to a network of potential collaborators. http://www.csuohio.edu/gsrc/cleveland-state-interdisciplinary-research-conference Internal Funding Programs Several internal funding programs provide support for faculty research including the The Faculty Scholarship Initiative (FSI), the Faculty Innovation Fund (FIF), and the Faculty Research and Development (FRD) Program. Applicants to the FRD program receive preference if their proposals are multidisciplinary. While none of these programs are geared specifically toward funding sustainability related research, all have funded sustainability related research in the past several years including the following projects.
