A brief description of the wildlife habitat program, policy, or practice:
The CSU campus is located mere blocks from the shores of Lake Erie along a highly travelled migratory bird route. As such, care is taken to create and preserve wildlife habitat on campus. Over 25% of our 85 acre urban campus is green space with over 500 different plant species. During spring and fall migration, the campus becomes a welcome refuge for anything from a red-tailed hawk to a yellow-bellied sapsucker.
