Does the institution offer at least one immersive, sustainability-focused educational study program that is one week or more in length?:
Yes

A brief description of the sustainability-focused immersive program(s) offered by the institution, including how each program addresses the social, economic, and environmental dimensions of sustainability:
Clemson University offers a five-week study abroad program in Germany that concentrates on renewable and non-renewable sources of energy and their implications in Global warming, "Sustainable Energy and the Environment (CE/BE4400) and German Culture (IS2100)". Engineering students study the efficiency of solar-powered vehicles, wind turbines, economics and policies of sustainability. This is accomplished in a lecture format given by both German professors and the Clemson's program director, Dr. Jorge Rodriguez. Since students are immersed in the program, they have the unique opportunity to learn from German experts the analytical tools and substantive knowledge needed to address the key economic and environmental challenges of the 21st century. The program occurs in three cities: Trier, the oldest city in Germany with eight UNESCO World Heritage monuments, Birkenfeld, a self-energy-sustained and zero emissions campus that exemplifies the future of our world, and Munich the most iconic city of Germany that helps one understand the historical implications that led to modern Germany. This environment provides the immersion needed to understand the crisis that Europe has suffered and their awareness of resources depletion. In addition, the program includes planned cultural excursions and a long weekend to explore Europe. Students get to interact with an international community that helps them understand the view of life in different countries.
