Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation Program: LSAMP at Clarkson University is dedicated to increasing the number of underrepresented African American, Latino American and Native American (AALANA) students graduating with baccalaureate degrees in the STEM fields. The Clarkson University LSAMP is part of the Upstate Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (ULSAMP), which is a partnership between five 4-year institutions and two community colleges in Upstate New York, is funded by the National Science Foundation and Clarkson University. Collegiate Science & Technology Entry Program (CSTEP). The creation of this office brings together three long-standing federal and state Education Department and National Science Foundation programs in one location, providing ease in access to services for students.

A brief description of notable policies or programs to support non-traditional students:
*Clarkson University has been named a Military Friendly School. This puts Clarkson in the top 15% of America’s colleges, universities and trade/vocational schools that offer the best support, flexibility and value for active duty military and veterans pursuing an education. The Yellow Ribbon Program allows institutions of higher learning in the United States to voluntarily enter into an agreement with the Veterans Administration to fund tuition and fees expenses. Clarkson’s Yellow Ribbon will match the VA Yellow Ribbon amount. Veterans have their own study lounge on campus.
* Clarkson University also welcomes international students & scholars from all over the world. The International Center informs and educates the international population as well as the University community of immigration regulations that govern international students, scholars and the University. Clarkson enables international students and scholars can learn more about practical training, visas, status requirements, work regulations, and other information needed for living in the United States.
* The staff of Student Success Center and Diversity & Inclusion (SSS and D&I) provide a number of programs and services designed to help all students reach their academic and professional goals. We are focused on creating a one-stop shopping experience for the tools students need and the academic experience that prepares students to excel at Clarkson and in the increasingly diverse working environment of the 21st century. The SSS and D&I is committed to recruiting a diverse campus community and providing academic support for all students on campus.
