Research Inventory
Inventory of the institution’s sustainability research:
---
A brief description of the methodology the institution followed to complete the research inventory:
Approach
1. List of active faculty F20 and F21 was compiled (HR)
2. these were combined into a merged list to identify any faculty who worked in either year
3. The list was reduced to identify those expected to do scholarly work. This included deleting adjuncts, instructors, clinical faculty, professors of practice and military science faculty .
4. Numerous resources were reviewed to identify scholarly activity for the remaining faculty
* 3-y pubs list with "clarkson university" affiliation extracted from web of science
* pubs list from RSB with SDGs indicated (only ones with high relevance considered)
* SRS data dashboard for grants received
* Web presence on clarkson.edu
* google scholar search
5. Example pubs / grants, books that had some connection to sustainability application were identified and added to the spreadsheet. Related SDGs were identified (the detailed sub goals were reviewed to identify matches, though only the 1-16 primary numbers were recorded).
Note: Basic science / engrg that has some future application for sustainability but for which that application was not identified in the title or abstract were not included. For example, there is a lot of cancer related and materials chemistry basic science that was not included here. In the end - this was a judgement call and subject to interpretation.
