Civil & Environmental Engineering (MS & PhD)

Our department also researches unique areas, such as 24/7 wireless bridge monitoring or showing that cranberry bogs have a negative impact on the health of streams. We focus our education on real world projects and situations.

Research-based degree programs that investigate and solve major environmental and infrastructure problems. We offer a Master of Science (MS) in Civil Engineering and a project-based Master of Engineering (ME) as well as a Master's International program. Thirty credits of coursework, seminar and project or research work are required for the ME and MS degrees. The ME degree can be completed in one academic year and is often coupled with a second year in the MBA program. The MS degree typically takes 18-24 months and requires students to write and defend a thesis on their independent research.
