A brief description of the institution’s efforts to support alternative fuel and power technology in its motorized fleet:
Clarkson's approach to transportation has been designed with gasoline savings in mind. Clarkson has purchased several hybrid vehicles in our fleet, electric golf carts are used by Security & Safety and Facilities & Services during the warmer months, and bicycles are provided for safety personnel use in the summer. Zipcars to provide a car sharing program to reduce the number of vehicles on campus. Charging stations have been installed on campus to encourage the use of electric vehicles.The improvements in sustainable transportation are an ongoing endeavor at Clarkson. Each vehicle purchase is recorded by Facilities, showing that Clarkson has purchased 13 high-efficiency vehicles (including 5 hybrids).
