A brief description of the garden:
A year-round cold-climate greenhouse was designed, funded and constructed by student. It is producing lettuce to eat and is used for research to improve the process and energy efficiency of the system.
The greenhouse is part of an integrated system that includes a food waste digester and energy cabin for renewable solar thermal and wood pellet heat. The students who established the greenhouse project have started a business and are ramping up to supply campus with greens and herbs throughout the winter 2012-2013.
