CMC has approved study abroad programs that are experiential field-based programs. students enroll in one or two seminar courses based on a specific topic along with language and research method courses. The semester culminates in a research paper and presentation of an independent study project.
There additional types of programs that are not easily categorized , such as the shipboard programs of SeaSemester.

Program Name: Tanzania - Wildlife Conservation & Political Ecology
Type: Experiential field-based
Housing: Students live in homestays with local hosts: three weeks in a peri-urban area near Arusha and one week in a Maasai village. Other accommodations may include hostels, private homes, small hotels, and camping.
Program Eligibility: Previous coursework in environmental studies, ecology, biology, sociology, anthropology, international relations or related field.

Stone Town (SIT)

Program Name: Tanzania – Zanzibar Coastal Ecology and Natural Resource Management
