Climate Ambassadors

A brief description of the student educators program (1st program):

In 2020, a pilot project was implemented for student Climate Ambassadors. The Climate Ambassadors learn about climate change and then are trained by Environmental Justice faculty to conduct 20 minute informational sessions regarding climate change in lecture classes. The program has continued in 2021.


A brief description of the student educators program’s target audience (1st program):

Selected students are invited to participate in the Climate Ambassador's Program.
They are trained using a module which they then personalize. Faculty go over their content and help them with their delivery to make the presentation most impactful.
Then, the trained "climate ambassadors" present a 10 minute slideshow in lecture classes followed by a 10-15 minute discussion with the class.
