Narrative and/or website URL outlining the steps take to acknowledge and address the institution’s historic involvement in injustices:

Since President Kelly's inauguration in July 2023, Christopher Newport University has taken steps to convey historic injustices regarding the land on which the University was built.  Throughout the Fall 2023 semester, articles, documentaries, and forums conveyed to faculty, staff, and students the history regarding the displacement of an African American community on which CNU currently resides.  There are plans to ensure incoming students are aware of the history of CNU.

No

Narrative and/or website URL outlining the institution’s partnerships to structure a formal atonement, reparation, or repatriation program:

Christopher Newport University has taken strides to partner with the City of Newport News to learn more about the history and recognize the injustices, but has not created a structure to formal atonement as of yet.
