A brief description of the institution’s employee community service initiatives:
Each Fall and Spring semester Chatham sponsors Community Service Days, Make a Difference Day (Fall) and Martin Luther King Day (Spring). This is in addition to our other community service activities:
-Scheduled Community Service Activities - Regularly scheduled one-time co-curricular activities
-Community Service Day - One day each semester entirely dedicated to community service which involves current students, faculty, staff, and alumni
-Service Days - Once a month we will be venturing into Pittsburgh for a morning of service. Join us for one or all events.
-Emerging Leaders Institute - A semester-long leadership program that prepares students to advocate for an issue of their choosing while working closely with administration and city council leaders. (kelly)
-Relay for Life - Each year the Chatham community comes together to support the American Cancer Society in a twelve-hour relay (athletics)
-Empty Bowls Hunger Banquet - In partnership with the grassroots organization Empty Bowls and the Pittsburgh Community Food Bank Chatham is proud to support a hunger banquet in an effort to eliminate hunger inequity in Allegheny County (art department).

The only 2 programs at Chatham that does not include community service is our BSN and MS in Nursing, as these programs are mandated by the state.
