A brief description of the methodology used to determine the total number of courses offered and to identify sustainability course offerings, including the definitions used and the process for reviewing and/or validating the course inventory :
Working with a sustainability metrics assistant, each discipline compiled a list of their sustainability research activities and initiatives, then complied them into one sustainability research activities and initiatives inventory. When compiling this data, we spoke with instructors and professors that we know include sustainability in all their courses, regardless of course title (some of which have been in the catalog for 30+ years). These professors work with the Office of Sustainability to conduct projects each semester the course is offered.

Any course with an SUS, FST, ENV, IAR, LAR prefix is a sustainability course, whether internship, independent study or class. Internships and independent study are student-directed study within the sustainability degree programs. Each one will be different, but they ALL must focus on sustainability
