A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about employee commuting, including the timeframe for when the analysis was conducted and how a representative sample was reached, if applicable:

Trip reduction surveys conducted every year by Maricopa County. The survey is sent out at the end of the year (2016) to gather data for the FY2017 year. In this year, 81% of employees responded. These responses were extrapolated to represent the entire employee population.

Separate analysis had to be done outside of the survey results to combine main and satellite campus, as well as combining modes to fit the data needed. We did not take the data straight from the survey results.
