A brief description of the institution’s GHG emissions reduction initiatives:
Champlain College has measured and analyzed our greenhouse gas emissions for over a decade. Each year's analysis helps inform planning for future renovations and programs related to curbing our carbon emissions. In Fall 2017, Champlain College signed onto the Burlington 2030 program, which pledges to reduce building energy consumption, water use and transportation emissions collectively 50% by 2030.
After a decade of major building projects we then paused, and then the COVID pandemic changed the world. We are now getting back on track with planned renovations and planning for some new construction.
