A brief description of the methodology used to complete the course inventory :

Review of course descriptions in Academic Catalog + a survey to all faculty in Fall 2014; followed up with review of new courses added to Catalog since 2014, applying the Sustainable Development Goals as a framework for categorization. Generally, for "focused" classes, 50% or more of the course content is sustainability/SDG focused; for "included" classes, 50% or less of the course content includes sustainability/SDG.

There are 6 total academic divisions at Champlain College (Core, Education & Human Services, Information Technology & Sciences, Communications & Creative Media, Stiller School of Business, Champlain College Online (includes UG and GR)

Within those 6 divisions there are 59 total programs/majors offered.
20 of those programs/majors require students to take a course that falls within the sustainability course inventory - however, ALL on-campus undergraduate students are required to take Core courses, including Core 101: Navigating Higher Education, which is classified as a "course offered that includes sustainability". 18 Departments are then used for "Number of academic departments (or the equivalent) that offer at least one sustainability course and/or course that includes sustainability (at any level)" to include the Core classes + Major required courses.

Total number of classes came from "Active Course List Spring 2022" prepared by the Registrar's office.
