A brief description of programs and strategies institution has implemented to ensure that the guidelines are followed, including a brief description of instances when the guidelines have changed purchasing behavior, if applicable:
Champlain College built into its contracts with our two custodial company partners that the must purchase and use non-toxic / Green Seal certified cleaning products as well as recycled content toilet paper and paper towels.
Sodexo/Dining Services is committed to increasing their amount of local and "real" food purchases, especially in accordance with Sodexo's Vermont First Initiative. https://vermontfirstsodexo.wordpress.com/ Additionally, they have adhered to request to buy Fair Trade products, including bananas, coffee, and teas, in accordance with Champlain's Fair Trade Campus designation.
The Campus Store, operated by Follett, has adhered to request to buy Fair Trade products, including, coffee and tea, and other products, in accordance with Champlain's Fair Trade Campus designation.
