Has the institution conducted a survey or other evaluation that allows for anonymous feedback to measure employee satisfaction and engagement during the previous three years?:
Yes

Percentage of employees assessed, directly or by representative sample:
48.60

A brief description of the institution’s methodology for evaluating employee satisfaction and engagement:

-CWU requested and was selected to participate in the statewide employee engagement survey created and administered by the Washington State Department of Financial Management. The survey was announced via an email notification, through employee groups, and included in Central Today. The survey was open November 1 through November 24, 2021.
-Participation in this survey allows CWU to compare satisfaction of its employees with the satisfaction of employees at other state agencies.
-There were 25 questions total. Four questions were added in 2021 related to reopening the workplace following the COVID-19 pandemic.
-There was a decrease in participation in the 2021 survey from the 2019 survey from 734 to 656 individuals. Of our approximate total population of 1350, this is a participation rate 48.6%.)

A brief description of the mechanism(s) by which the institution addresses issues raised by the evaluation:

-Survey results are provided to various groups (Executive Leadership Team (ELT), Equal Opportunity Committee, directors for each division, employee groups). Groups are asked to discuss and provide suggestions to be implemented. Vice-Presidents and their directors are encouraged to initiate strategies for each division.
-HR has formed a sensemaking task force to examine the results of the survey in light of the new mission and vision that CWU has just spent a year developing. ELT has asked that the task force initiate strategies and goals for the 2022-23 academic year.
