A brief description of the institution’s efforts to support alternative fuel and power technology in its motorized fleet:

CWU was the first university in the state to get an electric police car: https://www.cwu.edu/news/business-and-economics/cwu-police-expect-tesla-patrol-car-save-fuel-maintenance-and-emissions

Of the diesel vehicles, most are “special” purpose and not used every day. Examples: Street Sweepers, Dump trucks, etc. Only one pickup gets used every day.

All State of Washington vehicles need to transition to being fully electric by 2040.

CWU is working to replace older inefficient vehicles with more efficient ones.
