The Staff Development Committee at Ohio State Newark and COTC covers a range of topics related to personal and professional development, institutional recognition and networking, each year.
Committee members bring their knowledge of their specific area to the committee as content experts, and programming is developed based on topics relevant to ongoing campus activities. Members serve on a voluntary basis.
Past professional development activities have included Strength Finders 2.0 by Tom Rath, book readings and discussions, employee recognition awards, holiday events, and, the annual mobile mammography unit sponsored by The Ohio State University Medical Center.
Though all these topics are of value to the Newark Campus staff, the activities do not include a sustainability component at this time. The committee may consider adding a sustainability element in the future.
Financial support has come from the Diversity Committee and the Office of Human Resources.
