2019 Update: Records of workplace injuries have been kept internally, but were not reported to 3rd-party entities until 2017. It was recognized that even if this isn't a requirement, that it is a means by which to reports data through the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) via which we may benchmark against other Colleges, Universities and Professional Schools throughout New Mexico. The report for 2018 is not published until November 2019, so we are unable to give any figures beyond the baseline year. Please see the attached OSHA Form 300A for year 2017.

Optional Fields

A brief description of the institution’s workplace health and safety initiatives, including how workers are engaged in monitoring and advising on health and safety programs:
CNM has a Safety and Environmental Health Department gives general information to new employees during orientation (NEO) and also designs specific training modules to each department and departmental position. Depending on the position an individual employee holds, they may have to take a training frequently (annual or bi-annual) after receiving it upon hire. These training modules are found in CNM's Talent Management System and individuals are flagged via email of an upcoming training, as well as notified by their supervisors. Additionally, since many of the reports (such as attached OSHA) don't require the degree specificity that would encourage associated preventative measures and other forms of sustainability, we have the revised CNM Safety Committee (internal). CNM has developed a subcommittee that is specifically focused on accident/injury review and reporting. Once the revised Safety Committee is fully implemented, the frequency and severity of workplace injuries will be reported to the executive team on a regular basis thereby supporting institutional sustainability regarding work place health and safety.
