1) "In May 2019, along with the Vision Zero pledge, Mayor Keller made a commitment to Vision Zero and signed an Executive Order, setting the principles of the pledge into motion administratively and committing the City of Albuquerque to work toward the goal of zero traffic deaths by 2040." A brief description of how the institution engages in public policy advocacy for sustainability at the state/provincial/regional level, including the issues, legislation, and ordinances for or against which the institution has advocated:
Representative form CNM facilities (Sustainability) sits on the Middle Rio Grand Council of Governments Active Transportation Committee to advocate for a revitalized Master Transportation Plan that includes safer streets for cyclists and foot traffic. This involves participating in the selection of new bike routes (by designating them on city maps), upgrading streets to bicycle boulevards (signage and street markings) and protected lanes. This committee makes recommendations for several counties (within and beyond the city proper). These recommendations are incorporated into the larger plan before it heads to the government heads who are the final decision makers for the master plan.
