100% of New Employees (during orientation) are required to receive a series of training that emphasize sustainability-related topics and procedures including (but not limited to): illicit discharge (into storm drains) and its importance to the quality of our environment and municipal water supply, as well as appropriate management of materials such as hazardous waste, solid waste and recycling. Custodians are required to have annual training beyond their initial (upon hire) training. Additionally, 100% of Maintenance & Operations staff, and various other staff are required to have annual "brush-up" training over these same topics.
