A brief description of the program, including examples of peer-to-peer outreach activities:

The Sustainability Curriculum Committee creates and leads sustainability educational and outreach programs over which to engage faculty. Their main charge (2016-2020) has been to host sustainability curriculum workshops for faculty interested in integrating sustainability components into their curriculum (which includes themselves). This supports the institutional Strategic Direction aimed at increasing sustainability in the curriculum. The curriculum committee has 45+ members who serve a variety of peer-to-peer outreach and educational functions throughout the year. This groups engages approximately 10 additional faculty every semester (3x per year) in the workshops.

A brief description of how the employee educators are selected:

The Co-Chairs of the Sustainability Curriculum Committee (are voted in by the larger committee) are in charge of visiting departmental meetings across the college to invite members from several disciplines to attend the meetings. They also reach out to deans/associated deans to collect names of good candidates to serve on the committee.

A brief description of the formal training that the employee educators receive to prepare them to conduct peer outreach:

Every fall the committee holds a 2-3 hour "kickoff" meeting during which the Co-Chairs introduce new committee members and discuss the committees by-laws and objectives. This is also the meeting during which current and new strategies of engaging faculty in sustainability curriculum integration are developed, nixed or renewed.
