A brief description of the programs sponsored by the institution to support underrepresented groups:

CNM provides various support services for under represented populations, CNM currently has 2 DOE programs specifically designed to support low income, minority, and first generation students. The programs are Trio, Trio provides academic and student support services to students who fall within these categories. Trio serves an average of 200 students a year. Student Support Services include, scholarshp, academic advising, referral servcies for tutoring, financial aid, career exploration.

STEM-UP program currently serves current and prospective students in the STEM fields, the program provides an pathway for students to earn both an associate and bachelors degree in the sciences (UP-undergraduate pathway). The program provides academic support services in the area of academic advisement, career exploration, tours of 2 and 4 year institutions; academic support services which include tutoring both Supplemental Instruction, and individual and group tutoring, as well as charted STEM group study sessions. , http://www.cnm.edu/depts/stemup
