A brief description of the institution’s efforts to support alternative fuel and power technology in its motorized fleet:
Most of the vehicles on campus are gasoline with the exception of a few work vehicles for Facilities Management (FM), University Stores, and Residence Life departments.

Several years ago Susan Watt-Smith purchased an electric vehicle for use by the FM department but they’ve since given it to Science & Tech for research. Since alternatively fueled vehicles are still pretty inaccessible and expensive, CMU's fleet is mainly comprised of gasoline vehicles.
