Name or title of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:
Sustainable Lighting for Artwork Preservation
A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:
In 2020, the CMU library installed dim lighting around artwork and cultural displays, which turn on only when someone is nearby. This conserves energy, and protects student art from harsh lighting which may lead to the deterioration of their work. This innovation is an example of environmental sustainability, and cultural sustainability.
