A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:
Central Community College began participating in the Monarch Watch program, collecting data to track Monarch butterfly migratory routes. Select employees and students were able to assist in raising captive specimens and collecting wild-caught butterflies. Data was relayed to the University of Kansas after healthy specimens were tagged and released. Multiple types of milkweed and native plant species have been introduced to campus gardens, in order to offer Monarchs and other pollinators sustenance during their annual migrations.
