Service learning project over Spring Break at Ghost Ranch in New Mexico. Students spend 20-25 hours during the week of Spring Break working with the Ghost Ranch Sustainability Director to complete on and off site projects (possible projects include building adobe housing for low income, working on a organic farm, creating a Xeriscape garden, maintaining trails, or recycling). Cultural and recreational opportunities are also offered.

The Ghost Ranch, New Mexico spring break trip is an interdisciplinary project based service learning opportunity. Students work with the Ghost Ranch Sustainability Director assisting with on or off site projects that include building adobe housing for low income families, work on an organic farm, create a xeriscape garden, maintaining trails, and recycling programs. Cultural and recreational opportunities also are available in visiting Earthships, hot springs geothermal energy, and touring the Rio Grande River.
The trip also involves presenting their experiences through a collaborative project at the Earth Month events on campus and/or the Nebraska State fair Sustainability Pavilion to earn an eBadge in Problem Solving or Community Involvement on their co-curricular transcript.
