A brief description of the child care program, policy, or practice:
Child care subsidy is available for low-income students who are enrolled full-time in a curriculum program at Central Carolina Community College (CCCC). Students must comply with all program requirements such as: maintain a minimum of 12 credit hours (6 credits during summer semester), apply for a Pell Grant, maintain a 2.0 grade point average (C), and abide by the school’s attendance policy. Students must choose a licensed, star-rated child care facility that is registered with the North Carolina Division of Child Development. Students must also abide by the child care provider’s parental guidelines and pay all co-payments and additional fees. Co-payments are based on a percentage of the student’s monthly gross income.
